Haiti: Clinton co-chair with Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive, Haiti Interim Commission for the reconstruction of Haiti (IHRC), has announced that former U.S. president on Wednesday on the sidelines of the international conference of donors to the UN.

"I am pleased with the invitation of President (Haitian) René Préval to co-chairing" the Commission said in a statement Mr. Clinton, also Special Envoy of the UN in Haiti.

"Haitians want to build a better future for themselves, and I am committed to help them through the IHRC," he added.

The Commission's role is to oversee the use of some 3.8 billion dollars in aid promised in the short term by the international community to help Haiti recover from the earthquake of January 12.
