The earthquake occurred at 1:31 local time, 75 miles east of Cap Haitien and 15 miles southeast of the city of Montecristi in the Dominican Republic, according to the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS).
Causing panic in the early hours of the morning at Ouanaminthe, the quake caused people to abandon their homes and their schools students during the day to avoid being victims of an earthquake like the one that s' is produced in Port-au-Prince, January 12. "People continue to be terrified and gather in the streets to speak of the shock", the sources said authorities.
