Haiti has a new first lady
President René Préval, Elisabeth Delatour Debrosse were married last Sunday at a private ceremony at Furcy, Kenscoff. The President shall be absent from work for a few days, according to a close.
The first lady is economic advisor to Preval. She previously worked for electricity company and a highway contractor, and is the widow of the former head of the Central Bank, Leslie Delatour.
Preval, 66 and twice divorced, is in his third marriage. He first married Solange Lafontant, then remarried during his first term with Guerda "Geri" Benedict, sister of Steven Benoit. He has two grown daughters.
The presidential palace has confirmed the wedding on Monday.
