Haiti: Celebrating the International Day of Human Rights
On 10 December will be celebrated the 61st anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the theme "Go for diversity, end discrimination," we learned.
On this occasion, in Port-au-Prince, a cultural day will be held at the Parc Historique de la Canne à Sucre to celebrate this event with the participation of singer Belo.
The Division of Human Rights of the MINUSTAH (SDH), the Delegation of the European Union, the Canadian Embassy, Foundation AfricAméricA Fund, national sponsorship, the Center for Special Education, Plan International, Democratic curriculum "Tipa tipa" and the association ARCHE HAITI combine around this joint activity hosted by the Foundation Canez Françoise Auguste.
According to the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, "Our main goal is to help promote companies without discrimination and a world of equal treatment for all."
Two exhibits illustrate the theme of this special day for the rights of all individuals.
This celebration will also coincide with the closing of the education program for children on human rights called "Ti Lekol Dwa Moun," performed by AfricAméricA Foundation, in partnership with the European Union.
