Donation of $ 50 million from Saudi to Haiti
RIYADH, January 25, 2010 (AFP) - Saudi Arabia has decided to grant 50 million
dollars to Haiti to help overcome the effects of the devastating earthquake January 12, announced Monday the spokesman of the Saudi Ministry Foreign Affairs. "The kingdom decided on the instructions of King Abdullah to grant 50 million dollars in aid to the people of Haiti, "he told AFP Osama al-Nogales.
It is the largest pledge in the Middle East for earthquake victims in Haiti.
Authorities in Haiti say that the balance of the earthquake will reach 150,000
death and fear that 200,000 more bodies are still buried under the rubble.
