Haiti Soccer Haiti Cup starts April 21

Football soon resume its duties on the different game with the Cup of Haiti, whose official launch is scheduled for April 21 next.

They are a total of 32 teams selected by the National Football League (LINAF) to compete for the cup of Haiti dedicated to victims of the earthquake of 12 January.

The 32 teams are divided into 8 groups each of 4 geographic formations that play according to a league system (return leg) which will qualify two teams per group for the knockout stages.

The composition of these groups is as follows:


Group A: CSA, FICA, JSC and Zenith

Group B: ASSL, Racing FC, Root of Gros Morne and Lemonade

Group C: ASM, Baltimore, ASR and Vision Hinche

Group D: Storm, Lightning, Triumph and Roulado

Group E: CH Racing, Don Bosco, Victory and Dynamite

Group F: Violet, Black Eagle, Inter and Bacardi

Group G: ASCAR, ASGG, Valencia and AS Dufort

Group H: Cavaly, America, and ASPDIF ASPG

In the words of the President of the FHF, Dr. Yves Jean-Bart, this cup of Haiti serve as preparation for the clubs involved for the season (Digicel Cup), which officially opens July 18 and ends on November 26.

The 32 participating teams in this Cup of Haiti are: 14 1st clubs clubs promoted to Division 2 1st Division 2 clubs relegated to 2nd Division 2 League clubs promoted to the 2nd division for the 2010 season.

The team ranked champion will receive the sum of $ 10,000 (U.S.), runner-up $ 5,000 (U.S.) and the third $ 3,000 (U.S.).

Officials of the Haitian Football Federation did not indicate on what grounds the capital teams play their matches because the Sylvio Cator Stadium (Downtown) is still occupied by victims of January 12. Ditto for other playgrounds like the Crossroads Sports Center, Fitness Center Dadadou (Delmas), the Henfrasa (Delmas), Crown Park (Sartre), the Peace Park (Delmas) etc..
